Beware of new billing and text message scams

There are two new scams targeting residential and small business customers.

One scam involves receiving emails and/or text messages that appear to be from Toronto Hydro, asking customers to accept an electronic money transfer by clicking on a link. The other scam targets customers with fake bills and letters demanding payment for a “Smart Meter Deposit,” which is not a real charge.

Toronto Hydro never sends these types of emails, text messages and/or letters.

If you suspect you are the target of fraudulent activity, contact:
